Thank you for the development suggestion, this is unfortunately not an easy fix and you need to choose between picking books from shelves in the main library and send them to the bus, or not use the reservation cooperation.

Hello,

The reservation cooperation is intended to take effect when the bookbus does not "own" the item.

So:

- The mobile Bookbus does not own the item.

- The customer can find the item via the Arena because the main library owns it.

- The item may only be reserved if it is borrowed by another customer.

Currently, media can be reserved even if it is NOT borrowed but is on the shelf.

Hi, thank you, I think I understand now. But to provide a copy when the chosen pick up branch don't have any own copies this is the whole purpose with Reservation cooperation. What is is that you want to achieve with this cooperation? Or do you mean that the reservation cooperation should only apply if the mobile library don't have any copies AND the copies in public library are unavailable?

I can still reserve the item even though it's on the shelf.

I'll try to explain the problem.

The public library "owns" the item "Gotham Season 2."

The mobile library doesn't "own" it.

- The customer has the "Mobile Library" pickup location.

- The item is on the public library shelf (no other customer has borrowed the item at that time).

- The customer finds the item via the Arena and clicks on "Reserve for €1."

- The item is reserved for the customer even though it's on the public library shelf.

This shouldn't be the case, as the colleagues have to search for the item on the shelf and make it available for the mobile library.

You can see the reservation on the account "8861858".

Let's see, after another investigation and tests in your system we have come to this conclusion. I don't know if my interpretation of "not available" is correct. I interpreted it as "the Bucherbus has an item but it's checked out to another patron".

Scenario 1:

One item is on Bucherbus and it is not available
One item is at Stadtbibliotek and it is available
A patron reserves and chooses pick up branch Bucherbus.
Result: The reservation is created and the patron is set in que for the item on Buchebus. The item at Stadtbibliotek does not appear on the shelf list at Stadtbibliotek.

This is the correct result. I suspect that you maybe tested this too soon after the change of the rule, Quria caches rules for a couple of minutes so you must wait 5 minutes after changing a rule to see the effect.

Scenario 2:

One item is at Stadtbibliotek and it is available
A patron reserves and chooses pick up branch Bucherbus.
Result: The reservation is created and the item at Stadtbibliotek appears on the shelf list at Stadtbibliotek.

If this is the behaviour that you expect it seems to work today. Can you please test again and confirm?

And please let me know if you expect something else.

I have now raised the rule to the specified level.

Unfortunately, this didn't make any difference.

I tried it with two test accounts.

As long as the pickup location is "Stadtbibliothek am Markt," reservations are not possible.

If I change the pickup location to the Bookbus, the item can be reserved via Arena.

Hello again,

It looks like we have a bug here, but we have also found a work around for you. If you set the rule for "Medium in regal" on account level (ob) instead of authority (obb) it seems to work correctly. We have tested in our test system and it solves the problem. Please try that and come back if some problem still remains.

Ms. Mauch wrote that this behavior is normal because the item is NOT available on the mobile library, but at the main library.

Therefore, I created this idea so that this behavior CAN be prevented.

Hi,

There is a rule preventing reservations of items on shelf, and you are using it. To me it seems strange that you have any items the shelf list at all so maybe something is broken. Please report this as a incident to Axiell Support.

I will close this idea and wait for a potential bug report from Support when they have investigated your ticket.
